My little vacation over the weekend was lovely and just a bit chilly as it was near the sea. I got to see a beautiful sunset, lush mountains, and a bunch of cute little houses (a few in the color mint!)

 Oh, and I apologize for the not-so-great photos, my camera just wasn't cooperating :(

what's in my bag?

I've been wanting to share one of these posts for a while and when the lovely ladies over at Gussy Sews contacted me to feature one of their bags in a post, I figured why not? They have such a lovely selection and I received a pretty high-quality bag that's a light purple with flowers and a light mint green ruffle at the bottom (not shown)

Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream - I love this product and it smells so fresh!
Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer Cherry - The color is bright, but settle at the same time. 5 stars all the way!
Burt's Bees Rejuvenating Lip Balm with Acai Berry - I adore this balm! The scent is fruity and lovely.

a one year bloggiversary

Exactly one year ago, I decided to begin my own blog as a promotional expansion of my then-soap shop. I figured it would be a small thing with few readers. I had no idea it would be such a big thing in my life as it is now! I can't believe Modern Buttercup is one year old. One year old. I've grown to absolutely love blogging and it's been amazing seeing it grow. Blogging has taught me many things, and helped me meet so many lovely bloggers. 

I'd like to thank every single one of my readers who have helped me get here where I am now. I truly appreciate your lovely thoughts and comments!

Thanks again! I can't wait to see how much Modern Buttercup will accomplish in the upcoming year!

I'm going on vacation

I'm going on a bit of a trip this weekend -- to the beach! I wanted to give you a bit of a heads-up that I won't be posting or answering any emails until Monday as I won't get any internet....

But no worries, I'll be back again Monday for my 1 year bloggiversary and will share some photos of my vacation later next week.

I was using my watercolor paints not that long ago and snapped a pic of the colors up close, splatters and all. The color hues in it are so pretty and I couldn't resist sharing them!

Happy Monday! The last few weeks have flown by and I'm hoping to have this one be the same. And all though it shouldn't be too busy, I'm doing my best to get it all done-- graphic design orders, blog posting, and watching the season finale of Once Upon a Time (which I'm so bummed is ending)...

My package came!

Hello lovelies! I just wanted to let you know that my send something good package finally arrived! I've been looking forward to it's arrival for a few days now and couldn't be more thrilled when it arrived! I was just there, squealing at the sight of the package there on my doorstep. And I was even more thrilled when I realized my package came from the lovely miss Kaycie over at Redhead Memories. Here's a little list of what I received:

Smashbook: LOVED this! I love art journaling and this is perfect for just that...

Nail file: It is just so cute and I wish I had included one in my package!

Hot Cheetos: I was laughing when I received this-- I didn't think I actually would! This one made my day as it's my favorite snack of all time :)

Lip Balm: I loved this also, I had wanted this forever and here it is!

Polaroid Camera: Although it's not shown here, its on my bookshelf right now! Love it!
