5 Questions with Cami and a GIVEAWAY!

Hello everyone and welcome to my first giveaway! I'm excited to say that we are interviewing Cami from CamiGBoutique today, so take a look:

1. What would you consider your main source of inspiration?
I usually get inspiration from my head. It happens so many times that I sat down and start to create something, and then when I look at all the beads on my table I get lots of ideas.

2. Who (or what) influenced you to make jewelry?
It all started about 2 years ago when I saw some beautiful handmade jewelry on a blog and I started to be more interested and find out how to make my own.

3. What was your favorite craft project when you were little?
When I was little my favorite craft was sewing....

4. The most treasure item you own?
I have 2 treasured items that I own: one is my mom’s skirt since she was around 2 or 3 years old and second one is a ceramic pot from my grandmother.

Random Question: Are you more of a dessert-before-dinner person or a dinner-before-dessert one?
Definitely I’m a dinner-before-dessert person.

NOTE: CamiGBoutique is having a SUMMER SALE! So buy before it's too late!

Trend Close-ups: French Macarons

I decided to focus on one trend, learn a little bit about it, and then post about it. So I'm starting with one of my favorite cookies: French macarons.

seriouseats.com
These French pastries have slowly gained their popularity. In most French bakeries, it's not unusual to see some behind a glass case. They also come in a variety of flavors: Chocolate, Violet, Raspberry, Pistachio, Orange, Rose, Lemon, Coffee, Coconut, Mango, Vanilla, and Mint.

Although they're known as French pastries, these cookies were actually "born" in Italy. At first, macarons were rather simple pastries. Their main ingredients were almond powder, egg whites, and sugar. But in the beginning of the 1900's, did the macarons we know today come together into the well-known French macaron.
