Friday Favorites

It's this time of week again ~ and as promised, I've put together a bit of a doozy for this week's Friday favorites; partly because I promised one to you all, and to make up for not posting at all this week (I feel like such a bad blogger!) But I can confidently say that I am going to be better about posting in December - cross my heart.

 Floral Wreaths
I love it when a photographer puts a twist on the current trend, and in this case, added a bit of a "harvest-y" dark side to it, adding in the dried (or dead?) flowers. So beautiful with the muted tones and sophisticated hair.

Facial Masks
This looks delightful! Not to mention, heaven for your face. I'm currently looking into buying some face masks, but why buy when there's so many great recipes for them out there for free? Putting this on my to-do list for sure.

Inspiration
You don't even know how true this is! I'm going to remember this more often.

Glitter
Yet another awesome DIY. I love how many way this project can be used; ornaments, wall decor, holiday decor... You can really never have too much glitter.

Cookies
You don't know how luscious these lemon-oatmeal cookies look! Sandwich cookies + oatmeal cookies combined? Too good to be true! Triple yum.

Fab favorites
I love Elsie's Fab wish list! So many cute and quirky things that I'm just dying to have! I think I'm going to add a few to my holiday wish list now...

Give thanks

Today is a day to give thanks and enjoy time with our families. It's also a time to fill ourselves up on good food and pumpkin pie (which is pictured above before it was put it in the oven). I encourage you to write a list out of all the things you're thankful for; whether that be something "small", like a sunset, or something more complex.

I'm thankful for:
- friends and family
- sunny days
- a good book to curl up with
- my kitten Ella (who's going to go crazy during Thanksgiving -- it's her first)
- my lovely blog readers

It's a small list, but I'm still working on it... What are you thankful for?

lovely letters update + package update

Things have been a bit crazy lately and a lot of things unfortunately, have been on the back burner. But now that the weekend's here, I can get everything back on track and continue what I love to do: blog!
I failed to post the last Lovely Letters task and super sad that I didn't get to it, so I posted a quick image below:

What to write...

Sorry for leaving you all hanging there. I haven't posted in quite a while, and haven't had the time lately to put one together (This week has been insanely busy). I just wanted to give you guys an update, and that the next post will be posted soon! As in, 1-2 days. I have great content waiting to be posted for you all, so you have a lot to look forward to!

Make your own fabric tape

Surprise! For the first time in a long time, there's going to be a DIY project here on the blog. And what better way to kick it off with a tutorial on how to make cute fabric tape?

I absolutely love fabric tape. It's one of my top 10 go to craft supplies. But at $6 or more for a little roll of it, it can get a bit pricey. Here's how to make your own for under $4:

For this project, you'll need: 

Fabric - any size (I purchased a yard of the strawberry fabric shown above for only $2!)

Scissors - any kind will do.

Tape/Sticky Adhesive - (I used double-sided clear tape and it worked wonderfully! Make sure yours is double sided, or it won't work for this project.

Step 1: Cut your fabric into strips about 1/2 an inch wide. Make them long strips so you can cut them to size when needed.

 Step 2: Apply the adhesive to the back of your strips of fabric.
Tip: Once you're finished, place the fabric strips on a plastic sheet to keep them sticky until needed.

That's about it! You can use the fabric tape for so many things: adding decoration to notebooks, scrapbooks, wrapping for presents, or to display notes and artwork like I have. The options are endless!

I really love creating these as they're super easy to make, not to mention the fact that they look too lovely not to use!

November is here

I know it's a bit late to be posting about a new month, but better late than never as I always say! November is going to be an amazing month, full of preparations for the holiday season, great posts, and maybe a DIY or two. The beginning of a new month is truly thrilling for me: a new start, a clean slate, with new adventures in store...

This month's goals? Here they are:

1. Try a new dessert recipe 
2. Get a new book read (I still haven't decided on the genre)
3. Start on embroidering!
4. Tweet more
5. Purchase a new bracelet (this shouldn't be too hard)

lovely letters: Task 3

Task 3 is here! It's an easy one to complete, and shouldn't take too much time. Basically, list 10 of your favorite things, or little things you enjoy. Get as creative as you'd like! This is a "lovely letters" so make sure to make them lovely :)

Task 3's letter should be sent by November 6th as our final task will be announced on November 13th.
