Granny squares

Do you remember my first granny square? Now there are six squares! Right now, I'm working on the seventh one and I'm really liking the color combo on that one -- coral, white, and some green. Crocheting the actual granny square itself is a pretty easy process, but the hardest part for me is tucking in the loose ends. I'm not sure if you do that while you're crocheting or when you're putting the quilt together. Any tips or suggestions would be very appreciated!

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that if you're interested in starting your own granny square quilt, I'd like to recommend this tutorial. It really helped me when I first was starting out!

xoxo, Nat

Usually I tuck the ends in after I've finished a project. I just grab a sewing needle and weave the piece in.

Your squares are coming along beautifully. I'm totally inspired to make my own blanket now, as well!

  3. I do! And the rest looks great as well.

I suppose both ways would work. Probably depends on whether you like to finish everything at once, or if you'd rather finish each bit once you can.

  6. Granny squares are so easy. I like making a huge big one in fact I just got a request to make one for a friend. When I make smaller squares I usually knot off once I've reached the size I want. This helps prevent the string from coming apart as I put them together.

  10. I found you etsy blogging buddies and I just started following you. These are super cute! My mom used to crochet and she tried to teach me how when I was a kid. I wish I has learned! She passed away a few years ago. I might need to learn just to keep her tradition alive.

    Much love!
